Just noticed what I think might be a new benefit for Lifetime Platinums...

"Lifetime Platinum membership benefits for life include..... Additionally, Lifetime Platinum members benefit from access to the Qantas VIP Service Team."

Per https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/status-and-clubs/status/lifetime-status.html

Never noticed this before! Good perk! Wonder if they actually get the same service as Platinum Ones (in particular, extra access to seats).

I think essentially they would get the same benefits as P1 and be treated like P1 including access to reward seats being released.

Seems like a no brainer benefit tbh. if you've clocked up 75k LTSC you deserve it. nice catch.

(and chances are you're probably P1 anyway while actively flying)

To hit that 75K target from scratch and minimum P1 qualification, it will take around 21 years to reach LTP. As for the ability to get the same access to awards seats not sure about that, QF will release award seats to P1s from additional fare buckets not available to WPs.

Not sure. Chairmans Lounge have access to the VIP Service Team but they don't get the same access to reward seats as P1.

I wonder if the ‘VIP team’ are the same team that look after the ‘Friends of Qantas’…

Probably not if they look after CL’s.

Well we know at least one person who has obtained Lifetime Platinum - Sky high for Wong reaching the top tier

"Labor’s opposition foreign affairs spokesperson achieved Qantas Frequent Flyer Lifetime Platinum Status (our caps, not Wong’s) in the final week of February"
