Australian state border restrictions

That is incorrect. I'm under 40 went and saw my GP and got my booking for the AZ jab and have had my first dose of AZ. I'll be fully vaccinated by the end of September and may be able to choose to bring that forward if an outbreak got out of control in Victoria or by some miracle travel overseas is allowed.
My apologies, I should have confirmed with Pfizer. Yes, anyone can have AZ. My son fortunately had his Pfizer appointment confirmed before the under 40s were relegate.

I am in 2B and not in any priority groups. So when the opportunity to get vaccinated with AZ came up I jumped at the chance and got the first appointment I could at my local GP. Yes, I could have possibly got it a week sooner if I'd shopped around and gone to a different GP, but for one week that didn't seem worth it at the time. If there is a bad outbreak or an urgent reason to travel interstate that requires being fully vaccinated and I need to consider taking the second dose sooner than 12 weeks then that would obviously have made a difference in hindsight.

But under 40s can no longer book for vaccination with Pfizer! There is no “incentive” for them. This age group would love to be vaccinated, but they have to wait for the age group above. Yes, we have to wait for 80% or so of the population, but it’s not the fault of this age group. They are getting vaccinated “when they can”. Most are not in a job-related early cohort. Stop dumping on them.

I stated that think there should be domestic travel benefits for being vaccinated, and i dont think we need to wait for everyone to be offered a vaccine to start those benefits. Those benefits will come to all over time.as vaccination rates increase, and that acts as an incentive.

I didnt dump on anyone, or say it was any under 40s fault for not being vaccinated yet. So no idea why you are ranting at me.

The national roll out has not yet opened pfizer to under 40s unless they are in 1a or 1b. But under 40s will absolutely be able to get Pfizer when the cohort opens, no one has taken that away.

Right now, SA and NT are offering Pfizer to anyone in remote and regional areas due to logistics but not in metro.

The PM has mentioned that we should get to a point where those that are vaccinated are allowed to travel even during lockdowns, but he's powerless to implement that. It's up to the states.

Its in stage 3 and 4 of his plan, so at least a year away, we are barely in stage 1. It doesnt need to wait that long.

There is a lot of stuff that should be in earlier phases than what's in the plan, some of which should be done already.

I am in Vic. All I know is that I’ve waited two years for a holiday and had a special birthday with family on a luxury remote island north of Cairns leaving tomorrow. Not. A few weeks ago we had no cases and the various ‘football hubs’ all here for weeks accordingly. I’m vaccinated (which means nothing) and our holiday is gone. Sadly I could not follow the football hubs (as only footballers are considered essential workers for travel purposes). I give up.

He may be powerless to implement it, but federal resources could be used to sponsor some work to understand the risks associated with vaccinated travellers, which could in turn inform state decisions.

Anna shutting to Victoria from 1am tomorrow morning

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says:

“In terms of Victoria, Victoria has entered that lock down period and, once again, Queenslanders wish Victorians all the very best as they go through that 5-day lock down.”

"Because of that lock down, and the increase in the cases and restrictions there … Queensland will be declaring Victoria a hotspot from 1:00am tomorrow .

"That is 1:00am Saturday and that means that anyone returning after that time from — Queenslanders will have to do the 14 days mandatory quarantine.

“This is — I just think the clear message to Queenslanders is definitely do not go to New South Wales and do not go to Victoria during this period of time.”

As though the state decisions are informed by reason.

Oh very much informed by reason. Depends on which sort of reason we’re talking about though. ;)

Despite that, this time I think, looking at how the supposedly controlled entries into Melbourne of just two groups of people from Sydney have led to such rapid spread, the closure of borders to Sydney make a lot of sense. To the whole of NSW not so sure though.

Just enough time to get sports players, particular AFL players out.

There's a subtle difference between "reason" and "reasons"....

Oh the poor flustered old SA CHO will never live that down. Poor thing was stressed and out of their depth. I wonder what humdingers will come next time!
Doesn’t help that she doesn’t have a clue about football or any sports. She definitely won’t live it down, gets brought up regularly by media over here
