Just thought I'd create a thread for this - looking back over the last year, I thought I'd done a thread here as well as on Priority Club.

I'm a Gold member.

Friday, 22 May to Sunday, 31 May (yes, 9 nights)

Rate: Met Package (birthday present for Mrs LW, included 2 buffet breakfasts at Atrium Cafe & 2 tickets to Qld Art Gallery for Impressionists Showing from Metropolitan Museum New York - to get some culture)

Got some more travel to do to Melbourne this Friday, so hoping to fly down Thursday night to sample the new Hilton.
 
I prefer the DT next door (nice view from the harbour facing rooms) and you are allowed to use the pool in your hotel.
 
I did mean to actually mention that the DT next door would certainly have better views from the higher floors.
I charged quite a few drinks to my room from your pool. I was never charged for them… perhaps I wasn’t supposed to do that? ;)

I’ve only just checked in so I’m sure there’ll be a follow up post - but I couldn’t wait to post something as THE EXECUTIVE LOUNGE IS OPEN! And what’s more - food is self serve!

The lounge is on the top (9th) floor with a nice view of the esplanade and the ocean. It’s very small but it’s not a big hotel, so there are spare tables. The way they do the food is novel, with everything in tiny single serve dishes.

Got a great room upgrade, they upgraded me a few days out to double spa room, but then I was bold and just asked if I could get an executive room, they gave me a double executive room. once the Victorian cancellations started coming some rooms freed up and I asked for a king executive which they gave me, all for no extra cost. I think it has one of the best views in the hotel.

I was last here for New Year’s Eve and it’s a lot busier now which is great. I think this will be a good weekend.

Stay here several times a year as it’s close to Mrs Jase’s work and is in a great location.
Booked the King Deluxe room and was upgraded to the King Deluxe Plus room with views over Victoria Square.
Friendly service as always and if anything I think they have gone the extra mile since Covid.
Bottles of water handed out at check in and as we arrived just before 7pm we were told that because we would miss the lounge hours they would send up a bottle of wine. Still got 8x2 drinks vouchers so used a couple on Saturday before going out.
Free Internet worked fine and room was more than adequate. A hotel that size really should have Foxtel but Chromecast worked fine.
Breakfast was good on both days but especially Saturday with the excellent dim sum. Paid the coffee tax on Saturday but it was waived on Sunday and the staff were very good both days.
Only real negative is the hike down to the car park but the weather was ok so the walk did me good.

I arrived around 10 pm and check in was seamless. The Hotel had called the day before to confirm if we would like a spare bed for MissM which was set up on arrival. I think the hotel is in the process of change the room type names, a Queen Deluxe is actually like a junior suite.

Received a room on L9, which had been totally refurbished. Looked very fresh and clean. Good views of Trinity Inlet.

Drinks in the EL were constantly being topped up, by the three (great) staff. Gemma has now retired I heard. Plenty of canapés on offer.

Restaurant breakfast was busy, but there were plenty of staff.

Unfortunately, the in-room wifi was not workable. It has been that way since I can remember.

Edit: As dia, ordered an omelette from the breakfast a la carte menu for no charge

Nice, I was there two weeks ago.

I didn't have any problem with the wifi, it was very quick for me (I was on the executive level also).

I tried on 4 x devices with the same result. Seems to not be enough routers, or poorly positioned, for some rooms, which they have acknowledged. The suggestion previously was to ask for a room with good wifi and they will put me in one.

Anyway, I didn’t bother raising it this time as it wasn’t really needed, but something to be aware of.

Is there a wired connection in the room there?

Ah, I bring a travel router that rebroadcasts the hotel wifi to all my devices (and I carry a chromecast with me to stream to the TV) - so might be why I didn't have a problem (fixed position would get a better signal).

I highly recommend them though, they're the size of a phone charger. I don't travel without it.

That's what I do too. Was just trying to keep it simple for those who aren't tech savy.

What router did you purchase for this? Was it something like a Mango?
