Cancelling flight booked with amex travel, but no longer have that card..

Hi AFF Team,

I m thinking of cancelling the flights i booked with amex, as i have used travel credit comes with my amex card for the booking and have now downgraded the card already. I wonder what will happen if i cancel the flight now, will they offer me a qantas credit or refund me a cheque for the airfare value? thank you.

I don't know as I haven't used for flights.

I can tell you that I didn't get anything when I cancelled my hotel bookings made using my $400 Amex travel credit from my Explorer card.

a friend of mine got a cheque.
had qantas amex, booked with the F.C and cancelled the card, then SA shut its borders so they couldnt travel. they sent him a cheque

Had the same happen due to border closures last year. The flights were cancelled and the refund was posted to the closed card and then I simply had to call to arrange a funds transfer. Good service from Amex.
