Advice on champagne

I thought that was off select items - only the RWT was of note imo.

There were others. I got 15% off today when bought Euphonium and Shadrach. Trying to get just one of them canceled the 15% as total price was < $100.

Woops should've mentioned the $100 min is for the 10% sitewide sale, SB and the 10% off with free delivery took the Signet down to $186 delivered. Problem is with their champers range you either underspend and miss the 10% off or have to overspend and hit the $30 SB limit.

Woops, forgot that was only new customers, I'm not doing too well...

I'll try and right the ship with this for the Moet NV drinkers. Liquorland catalogue special at $60, SB 30% limit $30, $10 off $100 spend with tenoff and myColes 5%. You'll have to buy two for best value to get the $10 off but gives you $37.81/bottle. You could also mix and match a bit with a bottle of Tattinger NV & Piper Heidsieck NV for $74.25.

A friendly reminder that this is the Champagne thread. There are plenty of other places to discuss other wines and spirits.

Tattinger NV & Piper Heidsieck NV.

What do these compare too? $75 for 2 sounds pretty cheap

Tattinger NV & Piper Heidsieck NV.

What do these compare too?
Tattinger is a Veuve NV/Louis Roederer NV alternative, all depends on your taste but plenty would say Tattinger is the superior option (toasty/yeasty).

In my testing I've found Piper Heidsieck NV to be a cheaper option where you don't feel like you're missing out. It's not as refined as Moet but I find it good value if you're wanting to go champagne (not sparkling white) without finding yourself in the territory of paying good money for a bad experience. Especially good value here for under $30, alternative would be Mumm NV but it's at the regular Liquorland price this week ($70 is way overpriced).

I.e. Tattinger and Piper Heidsieck NV are on different levels, but for the price point they both offer a lot.

My bad again, this time on the Moet calcs. I ran the 30% SB after discounts instead of list price minus GST so it'd be $37/bottle not $37.81, minor details. My main reason for this visit is to mention Flybuys, just checked my account and I have a 2000 points for $40 spend at liquorland offer so worth checking if you've been sent one today. $60 catalogue special - 5% - $10 - 30% SB - $10 (flybuys points value).

Getting ridiculous now, takes Moet down to $32/bottle, they may as well forget the transaction and just drop bottles out the front of the store for me to pick up on the way home.

Not my cup of tea but for the high rollers Dom Perignon is the lowest I've seen it at First Choice, should be $219.23 after 10% CB, 2000 flybuys, 10% little birdie and 5% myColes.

Clover Hill - VintageSparkling

Thoughts? 2013 94pts multiple times. 2011 is listed by First Choice tho, it's ranked number 1.

Croser
Vintage Sparkling 95pts, ranked 2.

Very high rankings for the price

Can't say I've tried the Clover Hill before but Croser has been my go-to house bubbly for years, great value and for me a local product. It has a decent amount of yeast, tho used to be more pronounced, unfortunately it's not quite as good as it once was but I still love it and the bar is high for the dollars.

Last time I compared NV to vintage the only difference I noticed was I had slightly less money left over after buying vintage, oh and the bottle has some gold on it... personally I'd save the money and go NV.

Agree that Croser used to be better or maybe I just knew less.

Why not just grab Arras Elite - just grab a referral code from anyone on here and get it for $30pb.

$30 from where? That's half price!

It just peaked my interest, because their rated 1/2 overall for those years I assume.

Is cellarone invite only? Fairly sure I've been to their site several times then seen I can't sign up.
