mult-city award - searching/pricing/booking with KF miles

Looking at booking a multi-city award booking with KF miles.

Perhaps, SYD > SIN > HKG > TPE > (SIN or direct) > SYD

Whats the best process?

1. Searching: just searching the individual sectors?
2. Booking: over the phone without any booking $ fee?
3. calculating total points needed: so I can debate if not right?

I'm doing exactly same thing - I just try all configurations - start with return trip and then as needed work my way through all segments one by one until I find something that works and then add in stop-overs as an extra step as sometimes that causes options to come that didn't previously

Im flying to Europe and what has been interesting is looking at multiple cities sq flies into there and looking for closest nearby airport if I can't get direct flights and then a short train ride - sq is certainly the best imo

I'd had some nice surprises with KF due to their regional points approach

I should add that SQ will often 'price-up' flights differently in terms of points required, if they need to do the booking 'per segment', rather than say as a married segment (if I have terminology correct).

I do love SQ though - just booked MEL-DUS-SYD in J for a few of us in April school holidays, which is not a great time in advance to be booking such flights, but SQ gives so many destinations from SIN for reaching Europe.

Also, just a tip - when I first rang (middle of night), they told me I couldn't hold flight booking whilst I transferred points, but when I rang during the day (and clearly got a more main SQ call centre), they had no issue with it.

i just booked mine as 3 1-way awards... no need to call
SYD to HK via SIN on SQ
HK to TPE direct on EVA on KF points
TPE to SYD via SIN on SQ

Didn't know where the best place to post this was but it seems the ability to add a stopover ($100) on a one way saver award has gone from the website?

I was looking at a couple of options... HOU-MAN-SIN or JFK-FRA-SIN. While you can add the stopover it re-prices the award from saver to advantage level.

IIRC this used to be able to be completed online and the additional money collected.

The $100 stopover is still in the rules... just you can't book it on line. I guess it would need to be a call.
