Overall, it looks slick and it's finally modern.

Time to welcome REX to the 2020s after almost two decades of being in the 90s.

That's a hard box shadow on the "book flights" container, lol.

That aside, this site fails a heap of accessibility requirements.
No search, no sitemap, and text in images with no alt text. The title tag hasn't even been filled in. On the Manage Booking page, if you tab through, it skips all the accordions down to the second last one. While a user could tab through the top nav, its easy to miss it completely.

This is poor design, needs a bit more work

On the outside - if only they also updated the seat colours...
They'll have to reupholster the J seats, and the EconomyX seats. I'm assuming REX is smart enough to remove the Virgin branding on the premium seats.

Hopefully they put some new cushioning in the J seats, the VA1 J seats were rock hard....

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Going off how long the previous website lasted (hint: I checked archive.org and they have never updated the core design of their website since inception!), this should get them through to 2040. 😂

Seriously about time they updated it though. There's no way they could run a reputable jet operation with their previous website.

An update was definitely needed, but hopefully Rex will stick with something that works for a while. Unlike umm, certain other airlines, who seem to continuously let the work experience kids loose in their desperate desire to have the latest look and feel even if the website doesn't always function as well as it did .....

I don't care what a web site looks like, every time I went to the old Rex web site it worked and I could book and pay for a flight. Every. single. time. without fail. Hopefully the new site will be just as reliable.

You can't say that about the Qantas and the Virgin web sites.

If I ever do have to call Rex and make a complex change to a booking my call is answered within 5-10 minutes max, try achieving that with the Qantas and Virgin call centres.

I make a fair few bookings for travel on Rex, Virgin and Qantas.

Put a booking through earlier for SYD-MEL and you'll be pleased to know it still works as it did before!

They even got rid of the image-text captcha (and replaced it with the more accessible reCAPTCHA) which is a bonus.

Rex Flyer appears under the menu on the website but not accessible for me yet...

Nope just looked at new website and cannot find or tell if the lounges are open and where they are 👎

Just the meeting room in Melbourne?

Extract from the website:
Lounge Benefit (rex.com.au)

There is free Wi-Fi and workstations equipped with PCs. A private meeting room can also be arranged at Rex Lounges for members at Sydney and Melbourne (fee applies).

Snacks, tea, coffee and soft drinks are available for members to enjoy throughout the day, together with beer and wine after 3pm. You can choose from a range of newspapers and magazines, or enjoy your favourite programme on our plasma TV in Rex Lounge.

More like rex has joined the 2005's. The website is very average by today's standards.

I can't help but think rex will be a thing of the past in a year from now.
