To be pedantic, perhaps a better description of the article would be that "Virgin Atlantic files for bankruptcy protection". There's a slight difference between that and actual bankruptcy.

I agree, however they can see the liquidators office from where they are sitting. I guess we will know in a month when the money runs out.

I hope they survive but its not really a shock. Their biggest market is (was) carrying passengers from the UK to the USA. In addition to their more business USA destinations Orlando and packaged (flight, car and hotel) holidays is a big market for them. Last summer in the school holidays they were 2-3 times a day to Orlando with this increased to up to 5 on Saturdays and Sundays. If they can't fly to the USA with passengers then they are in trouble.

It should be based on science but will politics get in the way. The UK and the USA have this "special relationship" that politicians have been talking about at least for the past 40 years. And which I guess no one really understands what it means. Then you have Brexit. Personal opinion but I think Boris is very keen to be friendly with Trump.

By the time there is even a consideration of borders, Trump will be gone so who cares.

Regardless of who is President their infection rates will still be out of control thanks to their slow mo / non existent reaction to the virus.
