Well i have been op'uped recently a few times and last night again from whY to Premium whY (The joys of travel this time of the year on full flights being WP/OWE)
For those who are wondering, yes the middle seats may have a little extra leg room but you wont notice it unless your in the middle trying to climb over somebody !
As a comparison in the last week i have flown SQ 773 regional J, JL 763 regional J and QF 744 Premium Economy, i would rate them like this...
1.) SQ regional J - best sleeping position
2.) QF Premium whY - Most comfortable seat, idea for daytime flights
3.) JL regional J - similar to QF PE but i felt QF PE has a little extra comfort for tall people and width.
I still feel ripped off if i was going to pay for it because i used to buy the cheap WT+ BA tickets and so QF just seems expensive. But for the extra comfort on day flights or flights where you are awake i highly rate it... for sleeping.... well the recilne is not enough to really sleep as well as the SQ regional J. I like to sort of turn sideways and thats not possible on PE but sort of is on the SQ seats as they seem to recline more.
For long flights if business saver fares were available and you wanted to sleep i say if you can afford it spend the money on J. But i know a lot like me cant justify that.
