QuestionIf I do not book my stay at a Rydges hotel on the internet, does my PC card get credit?I checked the web today and it seems the answer is no!My $$$ spent it seems at this hotel chain is for a wasted cause if they are not going to recognlse a frequent guest. Please someone tell me different as this is a bloody disgrace as far as I am concerned!Mr!Sent from PDA so excuse the formating

Pretty nasty, but seems to be the case from the T&Cs

where a Member has made a reservation through a travel website (other than Rydges Hotels & Resorts Australia New Zealand Worldwide), a travel agent, a phone booking direct with the hotel or with Rydges central reservations, or via email, that Member will not be eligible to receive certain Member Benefits with the associated stay. In particular, Members will not earn Rydges Reward Points on such stays, the stay will not count towards qualification for Rydges Platinum PriorityGUEST and the member will not be eligible to receive the special member room rate (usually 10% off the best available non-member online rate).

I fell for a similar trap earlier this year with Hilton. I booked through QF Holidays rather than through hilton.com, so although QF were happy to credit my QFF points (with appropriate bonuses, although I must add this is at least 4 months after lodging a missing points claim), Hilton didn't add squat to my qualifying year record, even though I supplied my HH number.

It's an easy yet nasty mistake to make.

Same same - Hilton BNE :(

As for Rydges....

Spoke in depth with their "person in charge" of loyalty - I now have no reason to every stay at a Rydges Hotel again

Zero room for movement

The problem is, its the most decent hotel close to our head office :(

Grrr.... rock and a hard place

Mr!

Same situation with Hyatt points, the booking pretty well needs to be direct with hotel and at full price to achieve full points.
