How to book EK SYD-LHR using Qantas points

I'm trying to book SYD-DXB-LHR (with a stopover in DXB) with EK using QF points through the QF website, but it won't show me a DXB-LHR flight with EK. I can book SYD-DXB with EK but my only options for DXB-LHR are BA and Royal Jordanian. Does anyone know why DXB-LHR with EK doesn't show and is there a way to book the ticket I want using Qantas points? Any help much appreciated.

Chances are the flight may be sold out of FF redemption seats. If you give us dates, we can take a look and confirm that

Thanks for that, I broadened my search and eventually found one - for some reason I thought it would still show the flight as 'no seats' for dates with no availability. Happy for a simple solution!

I’m not sure but I don’t think the QF EK alliance permits DXB - LHR flights. One can book SYD - LHR via DXB on EK through QF, but not the seperate flights. It might be possible to book the whole trip with an extended stopover in DXB but you probably have to call QF.

I think the Op was talking about trying that via DXB and just no availability from the dxb to lhr leg

QF allows you to book a standalone award flight on EK for the DXB-LON (all airports) sector.

ok. I tried and one can't even buy a ticket on QF site for this leg at the moment. LHR doesn't not come up as a destination from DXB.

Given QF doesn't fly to DXB anymore that could be understandable, you'd be looking to buy that through EK (or BA etc).

Award seats are different, those can be sold.
