Well my day started differently to the usual. I received a receipt & also itineray air India flt departure 19/2 lhr-del, return 29/2 del-bom-stn. Made out to trishna, not trish but same surname & my email. Cost £410.38.
Ticket issued by lacfly. No cc details on either email. I phoned the travel company, given details to email customer service of company. Patiently waiting.
I also phoned my 2 cc companies. No charged showed up on either.
Expecting phone call or email.
Very weird.

Spam email most likely. Don’t click on any links or call any numbers in the email and provide personal details. Call your CC issuer and tell then to watch for any odd charges from this travel company or Air India And to refer the charges to you before processing.

... or request a refund from the travel company as something came up and you no longer want to fly 😂 (as long as you know the travel company actually exists and not a sham/scam)

Its also possible (and possibly likely) that it is a legitimate booking and the passenger shares a similar name to you and the email address entered as part of the booking was accidentally your email address. Is you email address something that reflects you name and one that someone with a similar name may mistake as being their email addr5ess? I often receive email messages to my @gmail account that were intended for other people. My @gmail address could be mistaken as being for for someone else with the same surname and first initial. I have received wedding invitations, shopping receipts, new job interview invitations etc, which were all legitimate emails, just sent to the incorrect email address. Gmail, in their wisdom, sees to have a established an alias for my email address that includes a dot between my initial and surname, so I receive messages for my original account name (no dot) and when a dot is included. So perhaps people with a similar name mistake my email address for their own, or their friends or business contacts assume their email address is my email address when it is provided over the phone. Perhaps their email address is the same as yours with a number suffix and the travel agency mistypes it without the number?

But you have done the right thing in being suspicious and checking your credit card details. Note that someone could not travel on that ticket without a valid passport (and likely Visa) issues in the name on the ticket.

I have the same issue with gmail and ended up writing to the people to ask them to give me an alternative email address because I was getting so many (and I knew their address because I received all the invoices for all the new kitchen appliances and their cooking school in Paris) Of course they never replied so now i just delete them

Loving the humour. Nothing from customer service & unable to get through to the travel agency like yesterday.
Nothing on cc, thank goodness.
My cup runneth over, now received something from amazon in German in subject about resolving something. Decided to delete & not open.
