Hi All.

We are looking for help for a trip to Europe in 2020
Ideally we would like to fly business class(otherwise Premium economy), esp the long legs (can do PER SIN in economy).

Wife: Leaving Perth on or around April 1st to Rome FCO
Me: Leaving PER on or around May 1st to Rome FCO
Both returning from LHR on or around August 6th
incl 2 day stopover in Singapore on return leg
Dont want to have anything over 25 hours ish PER-ROM or return.

Not sure when we will fly out of Italy to UK --we will plan that ourselves.

Thanks in advance
Andy

Can do PER-KUL-IST-FCO/LGW-IST-SIN for $4000 on TK (but PER-KUL is on Malindo*), using multi city tool on TK website. Adding final SIN-PER leg using that itinerary adds >$2k....

*nb can do instead PER-SIN-IST-FCO, with PER-SIN on QF, for $5891...

You dont have enough points for both passengers so I think best value is use the points for one passenger via Singapore.

Thanks guys. Im seeing 92,000 miles not 64,500 though..why would that be?

92 = business saver (ex-SIN, ex PER = 106K)
64.5 = premium economy saver (ex-SIN, ex PER = 70K)

Personally, I think points to Europe on premium economy are a waste, better to use them in business to Istanbul if available (will be ~same or less than premium economy to Europe, and then just pay for a flight to get to where you want to in Europe). Of course this means mucking around and some risk, so YMMV.

Business to Istanbul sounds like an interesting option.

PER-IST is 70.5k points in business, SIN-IST is 49k points (compared to premium economy to rest of Europe are 70K and 64K respectively).

This the plan for my partner & I next year to take advantage of the sweet spot with 11 hours flying business Istanbul - Singapore aboard the new A350.

We’re going to maximise this further with access to the KrisFlyer lounge by adding on a 2.5 flight to Bali for a couple of nights beach break before returning on a cheap Perth flight.

Perhaps AndyPerth you may consider a Bali Stop over instead of the 2 nights in Singapore?

KrisFlyer has cheap J awards from the Middle East to Europe so you could utilise Star alliance Turkish Airlines to Rome.

Alternatively, if you prefer directly out of London, you can also fly Swiss or Lufthansa via their hubs to the Middle East for 29k in J.

My suggestion Andy Perth could be to book a direct Emirates flight to Dubai, before redeeming 29K miles on business with Turkish Airlines to Rome via Istanbul.

The long leg from Perth will be welcomed when you have access to the Marhaba Lounge although I haven’t been to Dubai to verify 2 hours is adequate so others may like to confirm this is sufficient to collect bags & recheck but also have some time in the lounge.

You could both travel J for the majority & clock up close to 20 hours with this itinerary all for only 156k miles together so the challenge would be to obtain a further 22k KrisFlyer miles beforehand.

Thank you (sorry for delay).. will look into this although tensions are rising in Turkey.. Might wait and see what transpires.
