SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Maybe they'll install some soul into the place? I'd put that at the top of the list of things it lacks.

ATM I'm rating the QF Flounges way above TPR.

So now I expect to be banned 😱🤬
I agree with this. Hopefully the renovation will improve the offer.
FANTASTIC news - there go another 2 who are stealing R / F space from the SQ Fanbois - hopefully the doors slam you in the coughs on your way out.

But back to serious topics - did I mention how much I hate the reduction in SQ R / F capacity? Again next Sept no Saver R into ZRH for an annual trade show - 8 years straight I could get Saver in old R but 2019 and 2020 no chance - so it's back to J - mind you I did have the greatest of fun with the Crew on 228 Sept 02 MEL-SIN - and o/n flt SIN-ZRH means mostly sleeping so I can live with that.

Nah. That’s pretty much the general consensus. The current private room has upgraded beverages, but hard to compare with QF F, LH F, the LX F lounges, or AF F. Even TG’s F Lounge has a bit of theatre.

@Cruiser Elite
CBR - SIN - FRA - JFK available Saver 01 Sept - can you split it up? EDIT, no MEL - FRA n/a. Nor, CBR - FRA n/a.

In TPR now and wifi is dire.

I’m also finding it hard to get revenue tix to/from LHR in the new Suites some days. The 6 seats is quite clearly too small.

My next TPR visit is 2 months away.
The only time we do the buggy is at Heathrow because it is over 2 kms from check in.

We took the buggy at LHR, because of the distance, and the lack of champagne in our bloodstream. :) It was a little embarrassing though. Especially when it drove into the lift with the constant beep beep beep, and he left had other people on it and they just stared at us!

This has me puzzled CE 😲 You say the Gold TPR invite is a prized possession, but a buggy ride, one of the benefits afforded to the highest status/class of service pax, you shun?
A ride in a buggy is an absolute nothing unless you cannot walk to the gate / lounge IMHO. Sit around a table at an AFF do and check the average girth size of attendees - me tinks less buggy rides would benefit most in attendance.

Do people view a buggy ride a bit like an old timers amusement ride or something? Or are you supposed to look important as you whisk through the airport? I don't get it or need it MEL just like you don't get or need TPR Invitations - lucky we don't all like the one girl huh?

Fair enough :) But when it comes to maximising the F experience, the buggy is one of those things that can make the trip special. It's a mix between a bit of fun, and convenience (they come get you when it's time to board, no guess work).

In a practical sense they have their place... arriving TG into BKK they save you up to 800 metres walking, and get you to the lounge or immigration PDQ.
