QF Lounge access flying into PER on CX J; out on QF Dom Y [Denied despite oneworld rules]

Has anyone had the same experience (i.e. denied entry under Oneworld rules) at the Oneworld ( Qantas operated) Business Lounge at LAX? We're booked on QF11 J class to LAX, connecting the same Day to a domestic AA flight ( in domestic F) . I was hoping to access the LAX lounge on arrival in LAX but wondering if we could strike the same problem there?
 
I had a variation on this a few years ago - flying out of BNE on Cathay on a ticket booked with QFF points on the Q website and wasn't allowed in the Q Club even though a member of Q Club. Can't remember if they were correct or not but given there were 3 people in the lounge late on a Sat night i would have thought they would look after us. My travelling companion is lifetime QC member. They have no perception of looking after customers.

You were correctly denied entry to the qantas club as you were not flying QF or AA.

AAdmirals clubs and flagship lounges are aware of the Oneworld rules. Arriving BA and JL connecting to AA and have been welcomed in, even at connecting points one or two removed from the arrival airport.
 
It is probably coming up to 7 years now where QP members flying BA haven’t got lounge access
That was May 2013 just when Qantas linked with EK. Not allowed in Concorde lounge. Directed to the J lounge.

Thanks Mel_TRaveller, Am I right in assuming we'd have access to the Flagship Lounge as we've come into LAX in QF J class? Or would it be the AAdmirals Club?

Flagship (this is the new default lounge for premium pax and elites). Although you can also access AAdmirals clubs.
 
I also have a question: I am a Qantas Club Member. I am flying from Sydney to Frankfurt on Qatar Airlines. Can I access the Sydney Qantas Lounge even though I will have a Qatar boarding pass? What about in transit thru Doha in Qatar?

No. Qantas club access rule isn't the same as Oneworld access rule
 
My mother in-law and nan flew Qatar airways to Europe a couple months ago from Adelaide , my mother in-law is qantas gold and they got rejected entry into the qantas club as Qatar Isnt oneworld !!! When she politely showed they were , the lounge staff said it’s for only Qatar business class passengers to use this lounge not
economy. When the mother in-law pointed out she was gold they said no and please step a side so we can service other passengers waiting to get in. They ended up at muffin break for 2 hours

Definitely should lodge a complaint.
I some times just feel like the staff don't even know what they are talking about.

I said to my mother in-law about a complaint after it happened but she said she couldn’t be bothered. I think she was over it after they got back from Europe. They didn’t have a problem with lounge access the rest of holiday which was good
 
I'm a bit confused with that story that popped up on the front page. Is it up to a human to decide if you have access to the lounge or not?

I'm gold on Star Alliance (Singapore KrisFlyer). When I show up at a lounge, I typically hand over my boarding pass, they scan it, it shows green and that's the end of it. It's not up to human to understand (or here misunderstand) the rules.

Qantas doesn't have computers?
Even then, SQ get it wrong sometimes: several times on f->J transits at SIN, I have been directed to the J lounge despite my BP clearly showing F lounge access.

Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights:
  • First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul^ and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).
 
Great find! I've queried Qantas about this on Twitter, but I think you're simply ignoring me and no longer engaging.

As per my post above - you should definitely include One World - this is a violation of their rules, making the choice of a One World airline less valuable. I often opt for American Airlines when flying in the states to take advantage of all of my Emerald benefits - if AA did not honor them, I'd be furious and AA would not be my airline of choice in the USA. I would also view my Q platinum as less valuable if it only had Q-related benefits.

Seems like an open and shut case.* Add on the claim for mental anguish or whatever the correct buzzwords are, due to being humiliated by the lounge dragons, and watch QF suddenly 'engage' with the problem. A real pity that legal action might be the only solution, but corporate coughisation will run unchecked otherwise.

*I'm not a legal professional and know less than an organic turnip about this, but it sounds sorta right and in modern western societies that's as good as fact! Even more so if transmitted via twitter.

I have. Looks like their Twitter account is just used to post marketing fluff rather than engage.

Would be helpful if someone else tried posting this I'd imagine.

Perhaps going overboard- but I would. I hate the responses Q is giving you. “@“ the fellow One World Airlines in a tweet querying the value of the alliance when rules are ignored. Make sure you also @Q.
