Anyone had their annual fee charged yet? I’m wondering if the month it comes through is the month you get the bonus points 🤔

Yep, came with second statement. Although, my first statement came the same day I received the card so there was no spend on the first statement.

I got conditional approval and sent payslips same day. Finally got a call today after 10 business days. Answered one question about some salary sacrifice arrangements and they confirmed approval then on the phone. Apart from the time lag that i was expecting, this was a simple process overall.

I have had BWW for years, but just wondering if govt charges count toward the $6K spend for the bonus points on this offer?

Nup. It's in T & Cs. Exactly what constitutes govt charges is a bit of a mystery. My idea is to just pay it and see.Tried the council rates recently, will see how that goes. Tried rego too. ditto. No idea yet.

BTW - giving my new Bankwest world card an absolute flogging with saved up bills and holiday bookings for next year. haven't even got the real card yet, using the digital version. That 90K QFF points is looking mighty good right now.

How do you use the digital version? I got the text but I don't even have a Bankwest Login, not sure how I am suppose to get it to work without the card..

Thanks, I did look at the T&Cs. Now I see it on page 2, the 2nd last para. I now assume all govt charges are not paid, although BWW used to.

knightfall - first you get the app on your phone (the bankwest app.)
Then log into your bankwest 'online' account with your PAN and and password or pin.
Then up the top there should be a tab 'cards'. click.
You';ll see a pic of your card.
Then 'view card details', you might be asked to confirm your id, with an sms, or whatever, I can't quite remember, but I do remember there was an extra step there.
Then you should be able to view the card details, as you'll see the CCv number and the expiry date, which is the info missing that you need to pay for anything while you're waiting for the real one to come.
You can get the card number from your account, now you have the code and the expiry date, which is all you need to pay anything online.

Don't forget that:

Earn 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on eligible purchases for the first $5000 spent in the month, and 0.5 points per $1 thereafter.

The time between application and approval for me was 13 days. I applied 24 July and was approved immediately. Email immediately after application requested 2 payslips which I sent straight away. 29th July email received asking for ID verification which I attended the same day. 8th August received a phone call querying 2 $2 deductions from my pay which I explained and final approval was given. Email received immediately confirming approval, and providing PAN and login information.

A slow, but fairly painless process. They did not contact my workplace. The operator who phoned me did apologise for the delay claiming a large number of applications was slowing down their normal procedures.

I like being able to use the digital card as I suspect the promised 10 day delivery time for the card will take even longer.

i was declined for this card. It's getting a bit devastating. I haven't been able to collect any bonus points from card sign up this year. I managed to get approved for 3 cards last year (2 of them closed now) really easily.

Is it my car loan? High mortgage I'm thinking might affect my chances but half of it is an investment property of which I get paid rent for.

Dont take it too hard, I owe $5.07 and got knocked back !
Macquarie bank wont give me a credit card either but I am a shareholder and they would be happy to give me a mortgage

this is so bizarre. Have you had any luck with other cards lately? I got knocked back for st george earlier in the year too.

If you call them, they can trigger the system to send you the PAN and temporary code to log into internet banking so you can get the digital card details.

Otherwise the PAN will be on the letter that comes with your card.

Had st george and closed after got the points.
I usually only do 2 cards a year
yOU DO 2 cards a YEAR??? Won't that hurt your credit rating? can't they see that you've had cards and cancelled them? I figured if you had too many cards they'd work out you were QFF points shopping.

2 a year is low (as the poster mentioned). I'll do 6 in a year. I don't care about my credit rating per se (if you mean the number that the credit agencies give you) as all they can do is stop financial institutions from extending you credit and that is far from what I have experienced. Things have tightened up of late in terms of what others have experienced, but I'm yet to be knocked back for a card and just took out a significant car loan (~$75K) without an issue so if there are negative consequences I am yet to see them. One positive consequence has been my QFF points balance.
