Hi All,

I've got a brief stop over in Helsinki on way back to Melbourne coming up.

Normally I stay in the Hilton Helsinki Strand but this trip I don't have time or inclination to travel to the city centre.

Does anyone have a recommendation for one of the three airport hotels? I can see GLO, Hilton & Scandic - any suggestions on which would be most pleasant? Also flexible regarding late checkout - I have a 17:00 departure for Tokyo.

I stayed at the Helinki Airport Hilton a couple of days ago, booked for Day Use & 1 night as my flight arrived in the early morning. Day use is from 0900hrs & I was there a bit after 0700hrs, they said I could check in then but would cost an extra 30 Euros. So in my experience not particularly flexible at all.

Edit: I have bo Status so that may make a difference.

If you don't mind going a few steps further, I usually prefer the Holiday Inn. They have a shuttle bus every 20 minutes, trip about 10 min. On the same shuttle run there are also two Scandic hotels. I've stayed in Scandic Aviapolis but while I generally like Scandics, this one was didn't live up to my previous experiences of their hotels.

The two terminal hotels, of course, would be most convenient as you can just walk in from the terminal area.
