Toronto to NYC on points?

Looking for advice on how to book tickets using points from Toronto to NYC (more than likely JFK) on points for 3 pax.

Being a short flight Y is fine.
Cash fares seem extremely expensive.

I have no status anywhere but have plenty of qff (0.5mil), vff (1mil) and heaps more krisflyer miles.

Would prefer to do it online myself instead of wasting time sitting on hold...

hmm, so i feel like a fool a little bit.

qantas site allows me to search that route... i'm sure it wasn't showing me "new york".. hmm user error.
virgin does not. guess I have to call

Westjet and AA should be options using Qantas points. I would go for AA if it's available as it's fewer points and there are a few complications with using WS for QF award bookings (e.g. inability to check in online or at airport kiosks).

Delta also has a few YYZ-JFK flights per day, you should be able to search for availability on Expert Flyer then call Velocity to book. The Velocity call centre doesn't usually have long wait times.

anything in the week of 11 Aug till 18th August for going & hopefully returning as well. 3-4 nights for 3x pax.

According to Expert Flyer, there is no DL availability direct from YYZ to JFK that week, but plenty of J availability on JFK-YYZ for 3 pax. Only J is available, and not Y for some reason.

E.g.:



For JFK-YYZ, Delta only has flights via DTW or ATL (in J), which cost more Velocity points. I couldn't find anything using QF points.
