I had mine completed by a notary. It wasn’t cheap either. The alternative is to make an appointment at the US consulate at Martin Place (if you’re in Sydney). Will be less expensive but depends on what’s convenient for you and how valuable it is to have a US Amex.

Thanks, how much did it cost you?
Me and my partner both want to use the same us address (forwarding service), I wonder do we have to do notary service twice?

Hi Jason, I wonder how did you completed form 1583 for using forwarding services in US? I see it is required to have the form Notarized? It is possible to have 1583 witness by JP? Thank you.
I literally went to Commbank and asked one of the bank employee to sign and stamp with their official bank stamp. MyUS approved it instantly.

I've never required this form actually. From what you guys talking, looks like its something to do to verify ID. But I never get asked by MyUS.

With the value of AUD is going down, what make you think that it is worth to apply the Amex US card, just curious.
I am actually not chasing the point per dollar for US cards, more on the benefits come with the card. For example, the Bonvoy card comes with $300 annual hotel credit, a free night, then priority pass etc, only for $450 annual fee. Just for the $300+free night, it's already worth it.

nice one, think outside of box...
i did the 1582 with online notary, which costed me 79 usd. then got told because of no tax return for checking or no credit rating, hence no approval for the second card - which contradicts to what they suggested 1582 as for address check only...sadly missed the spg before its forever gone...

now not seeing any appealing card to have...

1583 is normally required when senders use USPS. If they use a courier like Fedex, UPS or DHL, it is not needed. I think to be on a safe side, if you request a new card, make sure they don't use USPS. I think Amex normally ships new premium cards using UPS/Fedex but when requesting a new card, there is an option for USPS which you should avoid.

Well, there has been times that Amex refused to send out card using UPS/Fedex. For example, my Marriott card was forced to sent out using USPS. Tried talking to different CS and supervisors. Didn't get a chance to change it to UPS/Fedex.

Just applied for the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card via jasonfungsing method, but if using passport in the application does anyone think that may affect applying for an ESTA/ visa waiver?

Thanks, Just got approved, however was 31hrs since I applied which seems longer wait than normal. Anyways in regards to paying off the card, has anyone looked at the citibank global currency account? (Citi Australia)
Looks like when you open an account you can have multiple currencies including USD available to you, haven't opened it yet but would be interesting if you can use that to directly pay a US credit card.
