I have booked a family holiday to China QF using points in late Dec 08. Do I need visas? If so how do I arrange. I am in Melb

In short Yes.

There are many threads with extensive posts about the requirements to obtain a Chinese Visa. Not sure if the requirements will be relaxed by the time you go, but not likely to worry you in any event.

There is a Chinese Consulate in Melbourne. Can't post a link (not enough posts), but take out the spaces and replaces with "." etc, and type it after the http:slashes no "www" and you want "melbourne chineseconsulate org"
