Purchase Ticket at Airport???

Is it possible to purchase a seat at the counter for a QF/JQ flight (assuming seats are available)? Where do you make the purchase?

Never done this before but I may have to shortly (long story). SYD and MELB in particular.

There is a Qantas ticket desk at all of the major airports. Smaller airports not too sure about.

Jetstar also fits into my "no idea" radar, but assume they have a similar setup.

Note that additional fees will apply to a walk up ticket, as well as paying last minute fare prices (ie often booked into the highest/most expensive fare classes on the plane).

Done it myself a few times.... but here is a another trick....
Make the purchase last minute on-line.... (GSM modem or hotel business center etc) then turn up, if its not ticketed, then they will just ticket then and there with no extra charges. (thats happened to me a few times by accident)

Good idea. Last week I was able to book right through to the payment screen using my iPhone while waiting at the gate for a JQ flight that was scheduled for departure in 45 mins.

Tried booking a last minute flight on Virgin, but it seems that they remove flights from sale (at least online) about 1-2 hours prior to departure...

I've notice after say 5pm you can't book the midnight departure..
