I flew my 8th eligible flight on 27 December 2018 with the points and status credits credited to my account on 30 December 2018.

How long does it usually take VA to upgrade the status from Gold to Platinum? It's still showing Gold at the moment.

Using mine as an illustration:
- Qualifying flight on 28 October 2018
- Status upgraded on 2 November 2018

Thanks for your replies. Will give VA a call. The website is showing "You will upgrade to Platinum".

My recent Silver to Gold took about 2 weeks from the qualifying flight posting to my status changing in the app. Card and tags arrived about 2 weeks after that.

My last SG flight on 14/12/18 (flight was delayed to the 15th actually) then email / app showed WP upgrade on the 19th

So say that 5 days after your flight that qualified u for platinum u have another flight but u still haven't officially been upgraded yet. Would the status credits from that flight be lost or will they still count towards you maintaining platinum?

They are lost unfortunately. I had a scenario recently where I flew on a Friday night, which was enough for me to qualify for Gold, then had a returning flight on the Sunday. By the time everything credited my SCs to retain was still on 0/400.

But in that case at least they would count towards to getting to platinum?

Correct.

Worth thinking about when you will hit your target if you are only looking to retain though - I had booked Elevate tickets for that journey but could have booked Getaway on the return as it didn't count anyway.

it should be the next day after the SC/eligible flight requirements are met ....

Reassessment happens each night

True although im in a predicament that could wind up costing me 340 status credits if things dont line up my way. Oh well lifes a roll of the dice in the first place!

Airwin, flew 2 sectors, ADL - MEL - ADL 04 Jan 19 return, same day, 6.5 hrs apart, then the return flight got cancelled, so 8 hrs apart, one flight ADL - MEL got recognised 3.5 days after, late last night end 07/08 Jan 19.
But that return flight, MEL - ADL which was to dep MEL at 19.40, still had not posted at the same time as ADL - MEL.
All booked directly on the VAd website, and with my VFF # in booking.
Website says to give 14 days before making a retro claim, have done that retro claim in the past, for past flights prior to Jan 19.
Am in no hurry, so who knows, maybe wait a few days more, or one month.
Also did some VAd flights in in Dec, also took several days for VAd points and VFF SC to post.
QF is more expensive to fly with, but they issue their points and SC earn quite fast after flights.
Edit: as mentioned, my ADL - MEL points and SC have posted, but status recognition part halfway down the VFF page, ((still being looked at ***Your status is under review*** is the wordings)), can't remember the exact wordings.
But SC retain hasn't been mentioned on my VFF account.

I had this exact scenario. A quick call to Velocity and they fixed it all up so the SC and additional bonus points were calculated and applied correctly and not lost into the vortex of waiting on their system to update.

This is a known issue and can easily be fixed by calling Velocity as @jb01 describes:
