I was searching a major chain's website for a hotel room in Australia. Their engine turned up identical rates for my date in every room and suite class in a particular hotel (but not for other hotels in the same city). I have booked the top suite class for the flexible loyalty-member rate.

Are they likely to honour it? If not, should I expect them to reach out to me and how long is it likely to take for them to do so? The date of the stay is about two months away.

I odn't know if anyone will have the answer for you on this. The hotel may claim it's a mistake and downgrade you to a regular room. They may choose to honour it. If the price is super low (an obvious mistake) they may cancel the reservation outright.

You may have a course of action through consumer affairs, but it might come too late for your stay.

The advantage with an hotel is that you can probably sit back and not worry too much... unlike mistake airfares where most people have other non-refundable components built around the [mistake] fare.

I'm pleased to report that they honoured (or, given the chain in question, "Honored") this booking. It was an amazing suite, and their day spa gave me probably the best technical massage I've ever had.

It also stacked with:
Amex Offer for spend $400 get $80 back (spent about $450 including massage)
3x targeted "Winback" points promo
2k Points Unlimited bonus promo
