This is weird. Received this text from the number Qantas used to verify my dual log in.

Anyone else? Has their number been hacked? Correct name too.

Hope this is not real otherwise you've just provided the URL for anyone else to claim this!

Suspect it's not from Qantas.
They've just spoofed their number/name and your phone has aggregated it into the same message chain

Cant see Qantas using an Anguilla (.ai) domain.

My router blocks t5.ai as a scam site

Yep, agree. It's phishing and phone has pulled Qantas label into same thread.

That's interesting. Is there anyway to tell that a message has been 'inserted' into a text chain without the dodgy URL clue?
If you click on the name, you should be able to see the number or URL it's coming from. That generally gives it away.
Phishing

It’s kinda weird/ironic that the scam has been pulled into the same number Qantas uses to verify my account though.

We should be thankful the owner of the scam hasn't tweaked to the Qantas reference, because they could easily change their message to make it seem Qantas related and entrap a much larger number of people.

Well by virtue of that connection and my name that’s exactly what I thought. I’ve received other texts like this before but none have ever been linked to the Qantas number.

Phishing

Yeah, but not always. The one I get sometimes says its from 'Coles'. Clicking on it, 'i' etc reveals nothing but 'Coles'. Calling it back out of curiosity just now gets me the number 23657.

Yeah that’s the other option. Call back to reveal the ‘real’ origin of the message. Then you can google the number.

I recently got an email purporting to be from mygov. Knew it was fake as it was offering a tax refund lol
Have to say it look very official.
I am very suspicious of links but I would imagine quite a few would get caught
Havnt had a Qantas one though

This came through as a text on my phone. Have had those before but from weird numbers.
