I thought you just pointed the camera and went click, but apparently there is a lot more skill than that :)

Your husband's skill with his camera is making all the difference with his photos and is obvious. Many of us could never take photos like that, whether we had his equipment or not!

It was interesting to watch - she just grabbed the neck and held him until he suffocated and died. She kept watching the wildebeest - "They are moving - I could get another one, then I would have two. But what if I lost this one!"

She finally settled down to eat20180928- safari-216.jpg 20180928- safari-135.jpg 20180928- safari-106-Edit.jpg 20180928- safari-162.jpg 20180928- safari-171.jpg 20180928- safari-131.jpg

That last photo in the first lot you posted is awesome - that intense eye as she has him in her grip.

The migration is very much in evidence at Sabora. Because of the drought, masses of animals at the waterholes at the camp - no need to go on a game drive really, you can just sit on the deck outside your tent and watch them.20180928- safari-691.jpg 20180928- safari-684.jpg 20180928- safari-686.jpg 20180928- safari-682.jpg 20180928- safari-690.jpg

We were told the lions had taken over the camp and it was no exaggeration . The first morning we saw them by the waterhole and drove out to visit them That's our tent you can see behind them20180928- safari-621-Edit.jpg 20180928- safari-616-Edit.jpg 20180928- safari-321.jpg

We saw one with a piece of brown material in it's mouth - they were playing tug-o-war with it. Our waiter told us they had ripped it from the back of a chair. The next night they took the whole chair out to the waterhole.

Daniel said one morning they got up early to get guests to a balloon ride and first had to clear the deck of lions. On our second night the lions walked right past us while we were having dinner on their way to the waterhole. One guest had his meal taken inside - it was beef and they were worried it might smell too interesting.

When we were at Sasakwa the manageress told us one of the lions had fallen into the swimming pool at Sabora :) 20180928- safari-335.jpg 20180928- safari-328.jpg 20180928- safari-310.jpg 20180928- safari-289.jpg 20180928- safari-309.jpg

Its not just the cats that are predators - sometimes its reversed. A beautiful eagle with a wild cat. Ancestor of the domestic kitties. Fascinating to watch it pluck the fur off before eating. I am starting to think this report should have a R rating20180928- safari-518-Edit.jpg 20180928- safari-515-Edit.jpg 20180928- safari-525-Edit.jpg 20180928- safari-575.jpg 20180928- safari-565-Edit.jpg

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Africa is more addictive than the purest of pure heroi_.

Congrats to MrFM for capturing the stunning pics - and to you for posting them ;):).

There are a few good ones still to come. Just been busy catching up with things since getting back, but there are some lovely leopard and cheetah ones :). Every time I plan a trip to Africa I say it will be our last and yet we keep going back......
