Hi All,

Just a question re status credits and review date - I had a platinum renew date of the 29th October 29 2016 - I hit the 800 status credits on the 15th September, since that point i have earned 290 status credits, however my new review date is the 29 October 2017 and i only have the status credits i have learnt since the 29th October (120) is this normal, if so I would have been better off having a new review date set as i have 170 status credits floating in the air wasted

Yes it is normal. For the purposes of renewing at a level, it works from review date to review date - not on a rolling basis.

This is no different to every other FF program in the entire world....

Unless you think your new expiry date should have been brought forward from 29-Oct-17 to 15-Sep-17, otherwise you're asking to have your cake and eat it too?

With no lifetime status, only option to avoid 'wastage' is family pooling (if that's possible in your circumstances)

It's a severe limitation of being at the 'top' and with their being no Platinum One (like QF) they are dead SC. If you were Gold - going to Plat - they would still count .....odd really.....

There is another option - but if you had earned another 110 SC before your review date (& had therefore gone 500SC over) you could have gifted a gold membership to someone.

"If you earn an additional 500 Status Credits on top of the Status Credits required to maintain Platinum within your 12 month membership period, you can gift a Gold membership to a companion of your choice."

I have a relevant question here and couldn't find the answer when searching.

My review date is Nov 1, and I have a flight departing Nov 1 (but arriving Nov 2) MEL-AKL. Pretty sure only the departure date matters, but anyway...

Will the SC from this flight on my review date count for my next Platinum requalification, or not? If not I will consider crediting to DL.

Cheers

I believe that on your review date they count your status earned in the previous 365 days so any travel from review date onwards should count towards the next qualification.

I should have said any travel on your review date and onwards should count towards next qualification

Hope you are right JK! If anyone has some specific experience, I'd be happy to hear it. Otherwise sounds like I'll credit to VA and hope for the best.

I just wanted to follow-up and confirm, since I couldn't find any definitive evidence here before. I flew on my review date, and the SC are counting towards my future re-qualification.

Cheers
