My husband's middle name is not included on an existing Qantas rewards flight with Qatar Airways. Has anyone had any problems with booking not matching passport details, particularly with QR?

I have always put his first and middle names on bookings to match his passport, except for this one time, which is why I worry.

It will be fine - my bookings never contain either of my middle names. And for future reference you are allowed up to 3 spelling mistakes on the booking.

I've never put my middle name on a booking. I read an article about possible issues with this a few weeks back but have never had a problem. In fact, I've always gone by the saying " Less is more" and less is more likely to go wrong with spelling mistakes.

Thank you for the replies. :)

Moody, the 3 spelling mistakes, is that a QR rule?

It can vary per airline so best to give QR a call, but as I said .... my middle name rarely if ever makes an appearance on my bookings. All they should care about is that the person flying is the same as the person who the ticket was purchased for.

Cathay and Singapore bave been the most prominent in terms of needing middle names lately. They still allow travel, but are just difficult. With Cathay online check in isn't possible if the middle name isn't included.

But I wouldn't stress. With QR you'll be fine.
