Coles & Woolies accept them though not as great compared to plat edge. But depends on how you value your points

Saw it today too..... Thanks Google.
Can someone dissect this better than AusBt for free Signature card holder and let me know worth carrying in wallet and effect on credit score?

Thinking will get it as also free...... Thoughts?

As someone with a Diners card who is getting rid of it to go to Amex, you won't find many places that will take it, most people have never even heard of it or say its been years since I last saw one of those, mainly it's large supermarkets, airlines and a few other places that take it, the major benefits I can see with this new card are that it's free and the lack of exchange fees which thinking on it means you will be able to use it on PayPal as if I use mine it gets charged in USD then you need to pay for it to be exchanged into AUD.

It’s free, so why not. I already have the Prestige, requested a diners companion through online banking tonight. Just in time for my holiday to the U.S. in early Sept. the normal foreign fee of 3.4% on the Prestige is hard to stomach. Will be nice to get some sort of points and not pay a foreign transaction fee. I just hope it gets here in time! Says seven to ten business days and I fly out on the 3rd!

I requested one yesterday as a free addition to my Signature card. It will make a handy replacement for the Commonwealth Bank plat Amex, which I used largely for non-AUD transactions to earn points.

An added benefit that I want to try is that allegedly these cards (Diners/Discover) can be used in all UnionPay terminals in China, which is a tremendous benefit for those travelling in China, given how little foreign cards (Visa/Master/Amex) seem to be accepted outside major cities and larger businesses here.

Can I use this card on the UnionPay terminals in Australia and other countries or just China?

Not really, to be successful using in UnionPay terminals in China, the merchants have to accept UnionPay Foreign cards (UnionPay overseas channel), if merchants only accept standard UnionPay cards that issued by Chinese banks, then Discover/Diners cannot be used in those terminals.

Thanks. I knew it sounded too good to be true...

IMHO Diners Club has much better acceptance in many countries overseas than in Australia, so Citi offering a free companion card with no foreign exchange fee seems a smart move since the normal 3.4% forex fee on Citi Visa credit cards is a big disincentive to use.

What a sensational benefit to be added to the Citibank Visa card! There is only an upside for this, so great for overseas spend especially online. If anyone online accepts AMEX, then they likely accept Diners too.

Sucked in to those knee jerkers who cancelled their free for life Signature cards in protest over points devaluations or were they just virtue signalling (more likely!)

However I'm holding back my excitement until I see what exchange rate the transactions are converted at by Diners. Google turns up a few discussions on that point, but they are very old and do not seem to be comparing apples with apples, so I guess its just a matter of wait, and test it ourselves. I cant see anywhere that Diners has an historical exchange rate lookup like Visa/MS does.

So the next question... jump on it, or wait and see if Citi provides any encouragement for existing customers to add the card?!

I've requested....10K in points bonus right and 2:1 instead of 1.5 points on spend for my Life Free Sig card!
