Virgin Australia and Newcastle Airport doing a joint presser 2.30pm Wednesday. VIPs will be CEO of Newcastle Airport; General Manager Network and Revenue Management, Virgin Australia; Lord Mayor of Newcastle City Council; and Mayor of Port Stephens Council.

Place your bets, ladies and gentleman, place your bets...

Tiger return? I’ve been waiting for them to take Virgins measly one daily from Melbourne.

If not Tiger probably VA metal NTL-ADL or OOL. Probably a lounge too.

Oh... interesting. Subscribed for updates...

VA “Regional” Lounge and expanded range of flights (Sorry, haven’t kept updated with what’s happened at NTL lately...)

Yes, but my source said it will be the version with all Business Class bed suites, so will be a great SC earning run. Newcastle is a major hub for Virgin - Hong Kong twice daily as well I hear. :D

Today Virgin posted a question on Facebook ‘What’s the shortest route we fly’

So the answer is SYD-NTL to be announced tomorrow.

How far apart are NTL and Port Stephens...?

Edit: opps, I just realized Williamtown is half way to Port Stephens from Newcastle. My NSW geography ain’t that great.

I had heard that international flights out of NTL were on the cards. No idea if that's what this announcement is about, but if so, my guess would be NTL-AKL.
