Taking my 70 year old mother on a European trip in about 4 weeks. Will be flying CX J.

She has scoliosis that messes with her balance. So although she can walk, she needs the assistance of a wheeled walker. It definitely folds up small enough to fit in the overhead, but is larger than normal carry on.

Ringing CX, they won't commit one way or the other whether she will be ok to take it onboard Should I be booking a wheelchair just in case for our transit through HKG?

Noting the size of HKG AP I'd suggest it would be worthwhile booking the wheelchair to get you both through the transit area and to the lounge.

You'll both appreciate the assistance and will be able to enjoy the lounge.

Another vote for a wheelchair. Takes the stress out of it all. Sounds like the wheeled walker will fit in the cabin, but if it cant, its a good backup

Definitely get the wheelchair. Eliminates the risk of having the walker stowed in the baggage hold at the last minute (with delays and risk of damage) as well as the fatigue factor navigating large airports as others have noted.

Just arrived in Hong Kong after opting for the wheelchair service. Was definitely good advice, taking only 20 min from the plane to the Pier lounge. Nice side benefit of skipping the security queues.

Thanks all
