The Guatemala eruption of Volcan de Fuego looks a bad 'un. Guatemala volcano eruption kills 25, lava hampers rescue effort Another silica-rich one, like the Cascades Volcanoes of western USA that tend to go 'bang' rather than just spurt, effuse and fountain like Hawaii.

I suspect what is being reported as lava flows are probably lahars or maybe nuée ardente . Either one is bad news.
Yes a lahar. And people watched it coming.here are a few of the videos.
Thousands flee lava & ash fallout after deadly Guatemala volcano eruption (VIDEOS)
There is also one on the US vulcanologists twitter feed with people on the bridge in the above videos waitin until the last moment to run.Two children apparently died on the bridge.

Are these harvesting machines?

I have a friend whose job is to travel the world, teaching new owners of very expensive harvesting machines how to use all the new GPS ect tech in the machine. He was moved to Australia for a while because we were buying up big for a while.

I guess in a way it is a 'havesting machine', but it harvests as best I know brown coal. I went past another site today and they have a viewing platform, and some info, I'll post the photos later, now I need a beer, going to be a tad warm again tonight..

We do shows in New York, London and Las Vegas. London is well priced and New York isn’t helped by scalpers.

Didnt someone in the US finally get nabbed for murder because they linked the crime DNA via a random relatives ancestry test?

Yes, the Golden State killer in California.

DeAngelo initially became a suspect in the cold cases after Paul Holes, a now-retired Contra Costa County investigator, uploaded the Golden State Killer’s DNA profile onto an open source ancestry website, where he found a similar profile belonging to the alleged killer’s distant relative. Once DeAngelo, through the database and other circumstantial evidence, became a prime suspect, Holes and other investigators began trying to secretly obtain his DNA.

Finally got a message from Subaru that I can take my car in for airbag replacement. I submitted my form for it just before Christmas.
They are obviously not too worried about the recall as a major issue.

--Neither of our Subaru cars are affected.--

I have checked a little further re walking poles, they are Helinox brand, collapsed length is only 35cm & they weigh 150 grams each so very light & compact.
I usually stick to "traditional medicine" but both of us have used a local naturopath-Mrs RB now is a convert to the 5 Tibetan Rites Fountain Of Youth: 5 Tibetan Exercises You Should Be Doing Every Day - mindbodygreen
i have had a look at these and they look great. I will definitely get two sets for Antarctica and I think they could be useful in the future - I am not that great coming down steep slopes.

Silverseas is getting the enhancement bug in many areas now.The boots on board are often left by previous passengers so a bit naughty to hire them out.We do this-a cheap $20-25 pair from Bunnings and leave them on board.
the boots that Silverseas rents are from a company called ship to shore, so not just renting ones left behind. :). I think we will probably do it, just from the point for view of not having to carry them with us (even if we did leave them behind).

Going to Sydney tomorrow for Vivid and haven’t much to do on Thursday, so will probably check out Paddy Pallins and Kathmandu and educate ourselves on base layers etc.

they are pretty miserable :(.

Mind you my next door neighbour has a very sick child - genetic problems and mal formed heart - that child has had a huge number of operations and interventions and he’s not 3 yet. One of the ops he had seizures and brain damage and left him with a range of problems. She has a sticker that allows her to park in disabled parks at the hospital as she is often rushing in with him to get treatment for seizures ( medication not controlling all that well). One day there was a truck that was part of the construction that is going on there parked across the disabled spots. When she came back 3 hours later it was still parked there, so she took a photo and put a message up on the Canberra message board basically asking people not to do this and explaining the impact on people like her who had very sick children. There were some awful responses, including telling her not to be so lazy....

Oh really?
Yes, both QF and VA have Kathmandu listed in their mall. Kathmandu will also give free shipping if over $100 and if you buy their club membership ($10 lifetime), it can often pay for itself in the first buy.

I did a bad thing, made hubby try out boots and jackets and then I went home and ordered to get points. I did say to the sales person thats what I was doing and she seemed OK with it/still got paid for working that day.

And if buying via ebay, dont forget to check out "My Ebay" to see if you have a discount voucher you can use.

Something like this, it was 10% off last month and $15 off this month. I remember one month was $20 off.
