My old Samsung 2G Flip Phone is about to be turned off this month and I will miss it. I have another phone, Smart, ready to go. I like the old phone as I have dropped it probably 100 times including a number of times off my bike. It just dis-assembles itself and I put together again and off we go. The "new" phone with the fancy screen etc will probably be destroyed by me in a few days.

I can use the Smart phones easily enough but for basic communication, usually when walking the dog or riding my bike, the old one was great.

SA Water just dropped off 11 litres of water in a cask. Hopefully back on at 11pm. Thank goodness I had a shower about an hour earlier as I was covered in tiling cement. Quite literally.

I made an interesting observation at Aldi yesterday, the cash register tells them how much change is due.

Previously the operator had to manually calculate it. I wonder if the younger generation were simply unable to cope with mental arithmetic?

Some days I struggle with simple arithmetic but change the I can still manage.

When I use to work with hundreds of weekly time sheets and hours, I was much quicker in counting.

Probably more to do with efficiency, as Aldi's whole model is based on it.
