New Amex statement credits

Interesting. That directly contradicts the General Terms for both Qantas Gift Vouchers and Qantas Customer Care Vouchers:-

Potentially useful to know, though one wonders how many phone agents would be accommodating.

Interesting. I’m booking on regular basis for years, including as lately as last week, up to 4 GV per booking including multi-city with booking fees waved 100% of the times but please keep sticking to the dry T&Cs and let others enjoy the real benefits, it’s better this way.

Yeah sorry. not sure how that happened, this suddenly popped up as a new post on my feed when clearly it isn't!

Sorry mate didn’t mean to upset but you did qouted T&Cs on a FF forum ;)

Well it is very interesting that you are able to do a number of things that directly contradict the T&Cs. That's obviously not unprecedented, but I haven't really seen it in this context before.

One wonders what else is possible if those direct contradictions are allowed. Can I call up to get a $1 residual value voucher issued? :)

It’s all about thinking outside the box, teaching and learning from others how to maximise benefits with airlines, hotels, credit cards... Anyone can read T&Cs, no need to join FF forum for that.

Loopholes. It seems that your are unfamiliar with this term in a FF and Flying context.

The biggest earns, cheap flights etc often come through loopholes in the main (See my signature;) ). I am always on the lookout for the next loophole.

I think it's related to the fact that boomy is a Platinum One.

Gift vouchers are also meant to be used on one-way or return bookings. I recently called to do multi-city as I wanted BNE-SYD on a Thursday night and SYD-SIN on a Friday afternoon and the website would not budge. The website wanted me to fly Friday morning but defeats the purpose. First agent that answered was sympathetic to my story. If not I would have called and tried again.

Hi.
I am new to AMEX and its statement credits.
When buying online from a retailer that AMEX offers a credit for, can you pay using Paypal (with linked AMEX)?
I noticed one of AMEX T&C for the statement credit is
  • Excludes transactions made through a third party establishment or payment processor.
Not sure what this means
(and the retailer concerned accepts payment using Paypal)
Thanks for any tips!

PayPal is a third party and therefore excluded. To get the statement credit pay directly with your Amex.

I know numerous people who have used multiple vouchers over the phone and none are P1.

You can pay using paypal, but it will not trigger any bonus/cash back.

I’d imagine PayPal would be considered a third party or payment processor and to get the credit you need to pay direct with the card.

Only beaten by about 45 years on my reply haha

Don’t tell the people over in the “shut down all the loopholes” thread.

They’re already raging about enough stuff! ;)

The irony of these two posts given the opinions expressed on the other forum are not lost on me, I may just have to ring and dob on someone (just joking).

New offer and one of the more useful recent ones at that;

Heinemann Tax and Duty Free - spend $80 for $20 rebate.
