Mrs ausfox will be arriving at SFO in the early morning and has to wait until NZ007 checks in (about 1845) before she can access the NZ lounge.
Any polite suggestions on a hotel or paid lounge for her to feet-up during the day?
Thanks

That's a while to be there and I can't think of anywhere decent, I'd grab the Bart into town, Powell St station has Macy's, Saks, Neimen Marcus and Bloomingdales within a block.........otherwise nothing to do at the airport.

With that in mind there is luggage storage available at SFO too (or at least their used to be). And if shopping is not her thing, a ferry ride across the bay and back might be a soothing way to spend some of the day.

Unfortunately it looks like the Hilton SFO doesn't offer day use rates :( Normally Hilton allow you to use a room in the USA from 9am-6pm for between USD79 and USD109 - an absolute bargain.

But there might be other hotels around - there are a couple companies that offer them (google for 'day use'). The Westin SFO looks like it offers rooms, but at a hefty USD169 for the day.

Holiday Inn SFO might be worth a try? Holiday Inns usually have day rates. Usually not advertised , but if you call they will offer.

Price usually isn't great, maybe 20% less than full, but an option.

The same may apply with the Hilton as mentioned above. Give them a call or email, worth ashot
