I need to be in Singapore for work the week after Easter. Thought it might be a good idea to head up the Thursday before Good Friday to Singapore with MrsDaver6 and hit up a beach type resort. Welcome to Rimba Resort, Sibu Island, Malaysia came highly recommended and fitted the bill. Everything taken care of and pretty cheap. Unfortunately booked out over Easter, which isn't that surprising.

I've tried Googling for similar and did come across some nice places, but were much more than I was looking at spending. I'd be pretty happy to up to $300/night. Also keen where the resort deals with transport (if to an island).

So after and recommendations. Would like to minimise travel time from Singapore.

Another potential thought was Sentosa...but that seemed more kid focussed from what I could gather.

Finally, I noticed J* to Penang is dirt cheap from Singapore. Might that be an option?

Thanks in advance

Might be a bit further from Singapore than you like but try these:
Luxury Hotel Gaya| Resort Kota Kinabalu | Gaya Island Resort

ECHO RESORTS
(Borneo eagle is not opened yet - It's where the very first episode of "Survivor" was filmed)

Haven't been myself but have had a few friends go to Bintan & think you could meet your budget

KK would be my pick but with time constraints I’d be heading to Langkawi. A lot of people love Penang but Im not a huge fan and would choose Langkawi every day over it

I spent a week on Bintan just after New Years this year. Plenty of resorts on the north part of the island. There are ferries from Singapore direct to the resort area and most will organise transfers.

A couple of nice golf courses (Ria Bintan the pick) if you play. Also most budgets covered. Pricing in IDR but definitely more Singapore prices than Indonesian...

Agree on this for sure. But if you are hanging around a resort, I don't think it'd matter where it was since you might not leave often or at all.

Afraid I can't help with specific resorts as my usual favourites are more in the $15-80/night range :D
