I was thinking about those album covers, usually with the women in tiny shorts.

I vaguely recall my brother having an album that was green vinyl.

Colours albums on special vinyl were big at one time in the ‘70s. I have a red one of Aja by Steely Dan somewhere. The cover of my Blind Faith album with the girl and the spaceship would probably be confiscated by the child cough squad these days. I won’t post it but GIYF if you need.

I used to record Elvis Presley and loved Abba. The first album I purchased could have been Donna Summer "The Wanderer".

When starting that post I was thinking of you
Oh no. What have I done?

The first single I bought was this-

My first album was a Big Band compilation, featuring the incomparable Glenn Miller and In the Mood ... plus Tommy Dorsey and Artie Shaw of course.
My first was

Bought around ‘64-67 I think. That’s not the original cover but could not be bothered to dig through the storage cupboards to find it.

I still have a less-than-pristine set of ten David Bowie picture discs:

My first job was as a field assistant for a Mines Dept geologist during Uni vacation.

I will never, ever, forget our first trip. It was to south-west Tasmania, mapping across the mountains. Or rather, he mapped and I carried the rocks he collected. Never been up so many leech infested, 'horizontal' scrub choked creeks ever since. the only reason I went on in that profession was so that one day, I could wreak revenge on some poor unsuspecting kid in the future.

Nah, I didn't. First permanent job was a geologist in an underground gold mine in WA.
