Hi all

I just applied and was provisionally approved for this card. I will need to send in some payslips to confirm my income.

I then rang Bendigo Bank to ask about how I could advise them of my Bendigo Bank shareholding in order to get the special discounted annual fee. The staff member went away and checked with a supervisor and the response was that one could not take advantage of the offer and get the discounted rate!

I see nothing in the terms and conditions to this effect. What do people think?

I agree. Take your CHESS statement to your local branch and press them hard.

Called to check on the status of application. Told they are up to processing applications from the 15th Dec this afternoon... So I guess I have some time to wait.

In positive news, was told that it's application date, not approval date that applies for the bonus sign on points, so good to have confirmation of that!

Letting people know what happened to me.

Was excited to finally get a Qantas sign on bonus card with Bendigo but applied and was knocked back. 'too many credit card applications recently'. Told to wait 6 months to let my file 'repair itself'.

So furious. Have been with Bendigo for 20 plus years, have Bendigo shares, own house outright, working full time. Have 1 credit card with 0 balance and $15000 limit. Jeez they're strict. No amount of stating above facts would change things. Had applied and cancelled several cards in the past few months but surprised it affected the application.

I recently applied for this as I like to spread credit card churning over as many banks as possible.
Now I'm a bit concerned about the post from melbkate about getting knocked back for having "too many credit card applications recently'.
I'll keep my finger crossed.

Can you give us an indication of how many credit cards you have applied for over the last 12/6 months?
I churn a bit and recently applied as well.

4 since July - 1 knockback citibank - they've never approved me for some reason

Thanks. I've had 3 in the 2nd half of the year and the same in the 1st half.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that Bendigo don't consider that too many.

Hrm.. I'm keeping fingers crossed but hopes aren't high. Bah! Will report back once I have the verdict.. I churn a lot more than that!

yes keen to hear if others have suffered! I'm holding off applying for anything for 6 months - well that's the plan.

Perhaps Bendigo use a much stricter process being smaller. Still, it hurts.

Were you straight up rejected or were you provisionally approved pending doc check?

I was initially approved. Sent docs through. Waited over a week then got rejection email. Called up and was told the above.

That's infuriating.

Success! Approved today after a phone call confirming some details regarding credit file... really quite surprised based on the reports in here.

Has taken 18 calendar days since applying for it, but better late then never... hopefully the card comes quickly as I've held over some bills to hit the minimum spend quickly. Have a sneaking suspicion that the bonus points will take a long time to post on this one... hopefully I'm proved wrong!

Looks like I'll have to wait another week or so to find out if approved. It's a slow process as some like Qantas Premier approved on the same day as the application was lodged and I had the card within a week.
I'm holding off on paying some bills too until I get the new card.

Has anyone actually received their card yet?
If so, how long after you were approved did it take?

Approved Monday 8th, card arrived Friday 12th. Complete shambles to activate - somehow my mobile number wasnt linked to it, meaning the whole process required human intervention. Nearly hit min spend with bills that were held over - hopefully points come quickly and cancel this thing... but I'm not holding my breath!
