So you have to realise it won't be a great flight when they are having electrical problems at LAX.
Landing in JFK about 45 mins late.
However piece de resistance was I actually had the last three bags off the bag pick up.
Shame that is now impacts on the cost of having a driver waiting.
Ended not getting out to the driver till almost 6 pm when arrival is 4.30 pm
This particular leg does appear to have quite a few delays

QF do priority baggage quite well. Apparently the orange and yellow tags means that they take extra care when handling the bags which is why they're always the last to appear on the carrousel…

My bags coming off QF flights in the last few weeks (HND, DXB, MEL (international) and CBR) have all been in the first batch.

I've had both in recent weeks. First off - very first off, then almost last off. I'm expecting the worst but am delighted when its not. Both domestic. International - in the second batch.

TSA could have inspected it causing it to be last. My bags took ages to come out of JFK the first time i went. Got to the hotel and found a nice note from the TSA inside.

Has happened to everyone at some point I think. FWIW have had my bags appear first on this sector a few times. On my last AA flight yesterday they even sent them ahead of me so I could pick them up on arrival, alert on the App when I landed :D

Nope no note.
Lol had those before

I was having a bit of a giggle about them coming out right at the end

Is that a security concern? What happens if you miss the flight. They have to ship them back.
QF pull bags for no show under the "Safety before schedule" banner so interesting AA will send them ahead.
Isnt there more chance of getting lost or something if they have to go to storage.

Is this a new thing for status, J & F pax?

Ouch!
Last, thought if it was marked with orange and yellow tags, it would be first off.

Tags can mean nothing. Recently i checked in with a NB pax, me being WP. 3 bags total, 2 ended up under his name 1 under mine. All were tagged orange priority by AA on our way back from AUS connecting onto QF8.
Bag tagged under my name came out early. Bag tagged under his took a while and came out with other regular pax bags.
So sounds like a computer is involved somewhere which doesnt recognise someone just putting a priority tag on a bag.

I don’t think it’s anything to do with status at all. AA regularly fly bags ahead from what I’ve been told from very experienced AFF members like @dfcatch

Shouldn’t be a security issue when its the airlines doing this and not the passenger.

Not QF but EK.
+1 and I recently flew J into SYD. There were only a handful of us PAX left at the carousel, I was about to report our bags as AWOL when out they came - last!

Waited in June at JFK for a bag (2 bottles of wine, but this off AA from LAX) T+50 minutes ... they didn't start coming out until T+48 minutes ...

As an impatient sod, I always fly carry-on only, even 3 week trips checking into a new hotel every 3 days. Ah, the joy of exiting airports in this expedited way feels most rewarding.
