Hi All

While picking up coffee this morning at sydney lounge VA staff came around asking if I would my reaction be if VA did coffee to go for planes.. by the looks of her diary a few people had said yes..

Something on lines of new catering enhancement !! any other lounge had same questions ?

The QP has long had take-away cups. As a committed long-black drinker, mine would be still pretty hot by the time I made the gate. The flip side is LBs don't travel well, the less viscous liquid sloshing around and making the dash for the gate harder.

I guess there is no chance of them relocating an espresso machine just to the side of the gate priority line, is there? A little bit of the lounge right at the gate :D

I thought you werent allowed to take hot beverages onto the plane? Ive often seen people stopped and they've had to quickly drink or throw the cup away.

I’ve never had a problem with QF lounge takeaway coffee when boarding. Mine is only warm rather than hot, by then, anyway.

If I remember correctly, on my 3 JQd flights, they say you cannot bring hot drinks onto their planes.
Maybe that was more so a money making venture on their flights, as you have to buy coffee/tea refreshments from the crew.

VA now allows hot beverages on planes. I've seen cafes in the VA terminal (MEL) advertising it. You just can't take it through security which means takeaway will not happen in MEL but it would be a nice addition.
