Do SQ change the value of their points often?

if you leave a largish number of points in SQ - say up to 200K points, are they fairly safe there ?

i know that the points expire every three years, and from time to time SQ - as do other airlines, etc - increase the number of points for a given flight - but are there any other risks in warehousing points in SQ if you are saving up for a flight in say 3 or 4 years.

i am trying to work out if i should warehouse said points in AMEX where i will earn most of, or in SQ where i will probably fly from.

obviously if AMEX or SQ, etc do an ANSETT, then you lose everything, but that is just bad luck............. :(

Given that there's been a revaluation recently, I'd hope that there's a decent chance of avoiding another one within the next three years. But I reckon AMEX is a better warehousing option, because it gives you more flexibility if plans change or if something else comes up.

Thank you for your advice. i was thinking this myself, mainly/particularly if i decide to fly with another carrier.

I would definitely warehouse in Amex rather than with an airline, no matter who they are. Keeping your stash with Amex just gives you that extra bit of flexibility.

why would you warehouse in SQ when you can warehouse in Amex?
you are basically giving away an option for zero consideration.
