QF adds second flight to a PNR

Created a QF PNR ABC9D for a QF8 DFW-SYD (U) in January 2018


Rang up and ask for an I fare conversion to U for later in January. Yes no problems
Got given QF12 2 weeks later and cancelled QF8

Later in the day realised I’ve made a cardinal error - never give back a classic reward ticket until closer to departure. Mrs QS was not happy

Rang back and requested I to U for QF8 on the original date and also want to keep the QF12 . Had to call back the next day.

Rang back next day. Strangely the QF8 was added to the original PNR!. - so now 2 flights on the PNR but as it’s a change to the booking have to pay 5000points on top of the required points for QF8.

Was not keen but no choice because to create a new PNR would require cancelling the flight and it may dissapear altogether

So on the one PNR
I’ve got 2 one way
QF8 DFW-SYD
QF12 LAX-SYD 2 weeks later.

Interesting that QF can manually add a flight to a QF online PNR.

Perfectly normal. In fact it's done extremely frequently, particularly by agents. You can ask for it to be moved to a new PNR, they will do it, without losing it.

I tried to get QF to move QF8 to a unique PNR but they said it was not possible as it was constructed as an add on to the existing PNR requiring a classic award points change fee.
Probably would be possible now that I have paid the point fee

Wish they could add an AA revenue fare to an existing classic rewards PNR

Really easy to do and you'd also be eligible for a tax exemption on the revenue fare too. PM me some details.

I had a residual gift voucher that was expiring the next and cslled and booked 3 x one-ways from SYD-BNE once and SYD-OOL twice.

I didn't think it was possible.

During the one phone call but I suspect they could do it at anytime.

We have seen over the years where people book award flights and then start adding flights as they become available.
