The Lady of the Sky - nice article

In my opinion the A380 has nothing on the 747 especially on takeoff.

In terms of the noise they make? I expect that the people living under them are probably happy with the progress in sound engineering.

The best sounding 747s were the old P&Ws, on those (rare) occasions when we used water injection. Then they really howled...until the water ran out.

Thanks for sharing that. The 747 formed a big part of my childhood so I'll always love it.

Sometimes new is not necessarily better (the 787 for example).

However, unfortunately for the 747, the A380 is superior in almost every way from a pax perspective.

Interestingly i was talking to the Thai cabin crew and the told me the 350 is not very "staff" friendly. little room to work in and everything is even more compact. they prefer the 777's.
