Hi there,

am wanting to do a family holiday next July (2018) and have posted general questions about holiday destinations elsewhere, but here I just wanted to ask about getting 4 tickets in higher classes using lifemiles points.

Probable destination is Thailand (or maybe Vietnam or other SE asian destination)

I know it is not usual to get 4 tickets in J or F available at one time, but was wondering if anyone had experience or ideas how to achieve this. I can find dates with TG for two tickets. If I get those is there much chance that two more become available?

I am willing to risk cancellation charges if I stuff this up, and wanted to nail the tickets before going for accomodation, etc.

Sorry - almost forgot - looking for tickets ex-BNE, but can always do postioning flights to SYD if that opens game.

TG is very hard out of BNE next year unless you do the 2300 flight. If you have found 2 you have done well.

TG only releases two award seats at a time until the initial allocation for a particular flight has been exhausted. As soon as two seats are booked, another two will appear. But it's hard to know at which point the allocation is used up.

You can book two seats and wait for a few minutes. If you're willing to split the party you have nothing to lose (book 2, if another 2 show it's all good, if not, book on another flight).

TG also releases last-minute availability, but that's not really conducive to holiday planning.
