Hi

New to this - already have flight to Europe booked next year, and now looking for the return flight in early September next year on business. Which city is good value? Relatively flexible (eg taxes and point cost?)

Thank you

You would want to try and avoid flying out of the UK due to the high APD (departure tax) on premium cabin travel. If you're looking to use QFF points to book partner awards, look to places with a lot of service from either oneworld (OW) carriers or Emirates. September is not huge peak time, but still popular... I'd look to places like Paris(CDG), AMS, FRA/MUC or even somewhere like BUD where demand out may be a little less. Even DUB could be an option.

You might want to look at options via Hong Kong too on Cathay Pacific due to lower taxes out of there.

good luck.

I don't think DUS can be counted as a hub given Air Berlin's demise :( but yes major secondary european cities are always options

I wonder if Milan and ATH could be possible too given the EK services.

Richard - there are 16 pages of data detailing 1593 flights out of DUS on the One World Interactive map, so I would doubt that that the demise of AB will make the rest of the OW family abandon DUS.

There is often good J availability from MAD on EK and it's a great city to visit if you haven't been there. You could also fly F which is currently available on August 22 and more should be loaded shortly. Try multi-city bookings via your chosen hub and don't wait too long to choose.
