Hi All I am arranging a conference in Melbourne and need to buy or hire/loan an oxygen mask similar to the aircraft ones - the theme being:

“In times of change, first put on your own mask and then help your team put theirs on”.

Any ideas or suggestions - need for last week in September for 2 days

For the coughpit type, modern masks require an pressurised oxygen source to fit the mask; the harness requires the pressure to inflate. Older style full-face masks, such as those fitted on the Dash 8, King Air turboprops might be suitable. You'd be seeking maintenance departments which might have spares and could organise an arrangement with you. The very similar alternative (and maybe more suitable) would be a gas mask which you could obtain from any workplace safety store, and potentially for cheaper!!! https://www.rsea.com.au/ppe/respira...masks-and-filters/full-face-respirator-9000-s

Ansett Aviation Training would be my first port of call, they're more likely to be able to assist in some regard as they have both aircraft simulators with coughpit types fitted, along with cabin crew training equipment for the cabin type. If they can't help, see if you can speak to any of their maintenance engineers and seek recommendations from them who else to call...likely an maintenance operator out of Essendon.

searching on eBay for 'airline oxygen mask' returns lots of results which I think the OP is looking for. That is, the masks with the yellow cup, bag (which may not inflate), and tube attached. Many of them are 'buy now', so you could get them in time.

To to the OP.. good visual for your conference.

i did... but unfortunately that only takes me to results for 'plane oxygen mask' which shows the ones used in hospitals. They are not the airline ones, which I think the OP might be looking for. A hospital mask - which you could get at a medical supply store - wouldn't have the same impact as the airline variety.
