Your post #135 also reminds me of some places in Australia I have seen. The rubbish, not the vegetation.
 
So 2.1/2 years on, I revisited my TR. it makes for interesting reading from the perspective of how my view of the world has changed in that time, especially as a more seasoned traveller.
I wasn't sure I would go back, even my booked trip the following July never eventuated. I gave my place on that one to my daughter. She had a good time by the way :-).
I'm going to go back, only this time, I shall expand my horizons and extend to other parts of Indonesia. So there will be a Denpasar Dreaming ver two. Sometime in 2018.

If you are looking for other parts of Indonesia, try Medan in Sumatra. Borneo/Kalimantan too. Try the Derawan Islands off the east coast of Kalimantan. Beautiful!!
