Today June 9 OEF operated 4 sectors

SYD-MEL QF425
MEL-SYD QF436
SYD-MEL QF447
MEL-SYD QF460

I wonder if anyone got PE seats and if anyone were allowed upstairs

The Brazil vs Argentina Soccer friendly was on Friday evening at the MCG in front of 95,000. I'm guessing there were a bunch of Sydney fans travelling down to Melbourne for the game. The standard Friday SYD-MEL equipment includes 737's with the occasional A330. The addition of 2 * 744 SYD-MEL flights would allow an additional 600+ passengers to make the trip. The MEL-SYD sectors may have been lightly loaded.

A number of years ago due a massive rainstorm closing the SYD airport and causing many cancellations, my Jetstar flight was amended to a free Hotel Stay and a flight back to MEL on a brand new Qantas A380 which probably makes me on of the very few that have flown this route on an A380 ;)

During the flight I went for a walk and got chatty with the flight staff who then kindly gave me a private tour of the F Cabin.

Just spare a thought for the cabin crew, they are used to long haul and short haul isn't their thing.
