Hi I am SG and will be on a QF flight around the same time my mother (NB) goes on a CX flight. Can I guest her in the Qantas international lounge in SYD prior to our departures even though we are not on same flights?

Officially no, but I have had success where my guest is also flying oneworld.

Unfortunately not.

Saying that, I can remember some rude member on here stating that when the OW benefit is more generous than the QF benefit, it trumps the QF benefit.

From memory it was the exact same situation except the person was WP so was looking for F lounge access.

I'll have to have a look to find the thread.

Ok. I was going on my experience with the same scenario (me QF SG, friend on CX). Answer was no, as per policy.

Doesn't mean you shouldn't try though. Depending on how busy it is & whether the lounge staff are feeling generous you may be able to bring her in. Just expect it not to work though.

(Also on a side note. The Cathay website refers to the QF F lounge as the Qantas Club First Class lounge)

Would be good to know how the OP went with this and if they got their mother in or not.

The trip is not till early next year but my mother has decided to change her flight date so we won't be testing the lounge angels...
