QFF redemptions from Doha - not possible?

Hi all,

Attempting to redeem flights from DOH to anywhere via QFF is either impossible or requires a call to Qantas to achieve.

Is there some term or condition I've missed somewhere that prohibits redeeming awards from QR's home base?

Don't know why, but it does require a call for an award flight from DOH ( no fee). To DOH is ok on line.

yeah, their system is broken. Certain cities don't work, yet if I search SYD-DOH return, I can see flights from DOH-SYD.

Qantas tells me it's because it doesn't have the right to sell tickets ex-Qatar, in QAR. When you call you pay in AUD.

Hi guys,

Confusing title but what I've found is, basically the QF booking engine makes it difficult to book award flights to/from cities that it doesn't fly it's own metal to.
Such as say you wanted to get award seats on QRs EZE-GRU for example.

What I'm looking to do is book award seats on EKs MLE-CMB, why, well basically because the award availability is wide open, and also because it's very cheap to fly paid J/F out of MLE direct, but very cheap to fly J/F out of CMB.

So does anyone know how I can book just this sector only ?

Can this be done online ?

If I have to call up will they waive the phone booking fee ?

Phone QFF up and book.
Of course requests myst be on a OW carrier.
They probably will waive the fee.

Try it as a multi leg booking and it might work. Since you aren't flying direct to CMB anyway you lose nothing trying that.

I found this has worked for my in the past instead of system trying to book multi segment with one city pair in the search engine.

I've tried it as a multileg and found the availability but how do I actually go ahead and book it without the booking the other sectors ?
