DSC trip in F to Auckland will get you at least 480 SC depending on where you start in Oz.

With the recent sale this could be had for as little as $1750 return from MEL/SYD. Even now at ~$2600 it's some of the cheapest SCs around.

Surely that's one-way not return?! :shock: Otherwise that's really insanely cheap for F!

I'm going to be short of 85 status credits to reaching Platinum before my account resets. This thread seems to insinuate that customer services may waive the requirement if the points is small enough to hit the next status?

No, that was just OP's unrealistic expectation. Don't count on them comping if you're 85 short - make use of the DSC promo!
